Eastern Shawnee Professional Services and Bay West Announce Mentor-Protégé Joint Venture

OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS – May 7, 2025 – Eastern Shawnee Professional Services (ESPS), a tribally owned, SBA 8(a)-certified company, and Bay West, a leading environmental and infrastructure solutions provider, are proud to announce the formation of a mentor-protégé joint venture, Eastern Shawnee Bay West JV, LLC, under the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Mentor-Protégé Program. This strategic partnership combines the innovative capabilities and cultural heritage of ESPS with Bay West’s extensive industry experience and technical expertise.

The joint venture aims to deliver exceptional services across federal contracts while empowering ESPS to further its mission of sustainable growth and enhanced capabilities. By uniting resources and knowledge, the partnership will provide clients with cutting-edge solutions in Military Munitions Response (MMRP); Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) management; and Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) management and remediation.

Strength in Partnership

The SBA Mentor-Protégé Program is designed to foster collaboration between established firms and emerging small businesses, providing the protégé with developmental assistance in areas such as management, technical expertise, and business development. Through this joint venture, ESPS will benefit from Bay West’s decades of experience in federal contracting and innovative project execution, while Bay West will expand its engagement in fostering tribal business success and advancing shared goals of community impact.
